Brighton Bandstand wedding
I love working in my home town so a chance to photograph a wedding at The Brighton Bandstand at the end of the summer was great. Leon and Marilena came to me for their Brighton Bandstand i360 wedding via my old friend Simon who printed my work for years at the Vault, a much missed professional photographic printers in Brighton. He was printing my work as far back as the days when I would drop off my film on a Monday morning, 3 rolls of 120 and 2 role of 35mm Black and White. I would then spend a nail biting few days wondering if they were all ok. I’d head over th the Vault on friday and Simon or Mark would be chatting away whilst holding onto my work and I’d be checking their expressions to see if they were about to tell me I messed everything up!! Things are a little different now! I can check whilst I’m shooting how it’s all going but now I spend weeks in front of a computer screen fine tuning each individual image.
Leon and Marilena are both creatives and that always gives me a buzz and gets my creative juices going. I knew they just wanted this documented in an artistic way that also reflected their great sense of humour and the family vibe. The day started with leon getting this kids ready at home which of course included getting the dog wedding ready too. Marilena was having a lovely pampering session with her friends in town. The venue was The Brighton Bandstand on the seafront and thankfully the weather held off although it was a tad windy. My hair was practically in dreads by the time I got home! Just as the girls were leaving the hotel Marilena’s and Leon’s little boy took an tumble and gashed his eye. It show you that when you have a young little family you can’t make exact plans for the wedding day and Marilena had to take time out and comfort him on a bench before she could make her entrance. He’s was such a little cutie though, he really rallied and was full of smiles all day.

After the lovely ceremony at The Brighton Bandstand we went onto the i36o for dink before heading down to The West Beach cafe for more drinks and fun times for the kids. This is when we got to some cool shots of these guys on the beach. I think you get a real feel for these lovely people in the relaxed shots we got.
Thank you for being so lovely guys, it was a day that didn’t feel like work one little bit and I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you and being part of a really cool Brighton wedding.
