A destination wedding in the south of France

This was the ultimate destination wedding, 3 days of fabulousness in the The Dordogne. There was kayaking down the river, pizzas & barbies in the chateau and the perfect group of people. Old friends traveled from far and wide. Many new friendships were made. A little girl called Eva made my heart melt. I had the such a beautiful time shooting this wedding, I want to go back and relive it all again. Angela looked beyond stunning in her Johanna Johnson dress which she got on her travels while in Australia and Andy of course looked super cool in his Gresham Blake suit. Take five minutes out of your day and enjoy the longest entry I have ever posted on this blog. Special thanks to Dave Rempel who did some impromptu second shooting for me Amazing wedding planning by : www.marrymeinfrance.com

Planning a a destination wedding in the south of France and an  outdoor wedding at that is always a small bit nerve racking but we were lucky to have the most perfect September sunshine. Angela and Andy married under the trees with amazing Dordogne countryside as the most stunning backdrop.

A chateau wedding is extra special when all the guests are staying with you for a whole weekend.  There’s this sense of the excitement building for everyone and when the ceremony finally arrives there’s this crescendo of happiness!!

Thank you to Angela for these kind words too!!

A Member Of The Family
Jacqui McSweeney was our brilliant photographer. Jacqui shot our friends’ wedding in Brighton, and I absolutely loved her style, and the way she captured colour and light. During the planning of our own wedding, she was really the only photographer we considered. We booked her while we were still traveling, so had not met her until a few months before the big day. She is great fun, yet very professional. She understood exactly what we were looking for in our photos, so it was easy to put our trust in her. She did a pre-wedding shoot with us, which was great, as it helped us all get comfortable with each other. While in France, she captured the entire weekend, going way above the call of duty, and became a member of the family in the process.

Every bit as gorgeous as I knew they would be! Love the way you've captured the wonderful relaxed feel of the whole weekend, such beautiful moments to treasure. The bride looks wonderful (wow to the the JJ dress!), and everyone is so clearly having the BEST time :). Oh, and I want that barbecue.....no more trying to precariously balance 2 sausages and a steak on a charcoal area the size of a postage stamp.....
